Postponed not Cancelled!
The play-reading that is.
It is with bewilderment, sadness, confusion, rage, a healthy sense of the absurd and, ultimately excitement, that I have reached the decision to postpone the reading of the World Premiere of the fabulous Murder Mystery, the “Who Done-Knit”, “Murder on the Lot 19 Tram”. (Now Sub-titled “Cracking the Moral Code”)
Never fear!
The introduction of the World Famous Knitting Detective (even if only in the world of his own Magnificent Moustaches) Hercule Purl-Row is but delayed.
Circumstances (“beyond my control”) around the production have been interesting… (if the Dark Arts are your thing).
An ultimatum was presented to me a couple of weeks ago. The terms made continuing painful but possible.
However what has stopped me in my tracks is the exhaustion of my local shire’s annual funding for community projects for this financial year. In the short time available, it is impossible for me to write and produce the play, dodge the slings and arrows, seek funding for actors and be viable as a charity event.
This play was conceived back in 2019 when the Whistle of the Goldfields Railway’s steam-train came shrieking, mellifluously up the hill to me. The idea of an on-board “Who Done-Knit” was only one aspect of the concept.
I am looking forward to continued development.
I want to thank all who have expressed enthusiasm and support for “Murder on The Lot 19 Tram”.
Thanks also to Mark @Lot 19 and special thanks to @notcathieand @v.i.n.c.e.n.t.c for the kick-ass art.
Come along to Castlemaine's Lot 19 Arts' Precinct to find out this and more!
